LuminoCity Dino Safari Returns to Freehold Raceway Mall for 4th of July Week with Bigger, Brighter Prehistoric Experience
LuminoCity is set to bring back its popular Dino Safari experience to Freehold Raceway Mall in New Jersey, launching a refreshed 2026 edition just in time for the 4th of July week. Opening on July 1, the immersive outdoor attraction will transform the mall grounds into a glowing prehistoric world featuring more than 70 life-sized, roaring dinosaurs, expanded interactive zones, and newly designed light displays aimed at delivering a family-friendly summer adventure.
This year’s edition of the Dino Safari promises an upgraded experience with over 10 illuminated pathways and a wide range of themed attractions designed for visitors of all ages. Families can expect a combination of entertainment, education, and visual spectacle, with the festival focusing on creating a vibrant nighttime environment filled with glowing installations and immersive storytelling.
According to LuminoCity’s founder and CEO Xiaoyi Chen, the return to Freehold Raceway Mall brings a renewed and enhanced experience for 2026. The event has been designed to offer families a convenient local attraction where they can enjoy a large-scale summer outing without traveling far, while experiencing one of the most visually striking themed festivals in the region.
Among the major highlights this year is an expanded Bounce Zone featuring a 25-foot Volcano Bounce, along with a Neon Octo-Beats area that includes a glowing DJ booth and music-inspired light installations. The festival will also introduce upgraded playground spaces, new dinosaur-themed merchandise, and interactive activities such as Dino Speedway and Safari Dig, which are returning favorites from previous editions.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore traditional Zigong lantern craftsmanship through live demonstration workshops led by Master Lantern Artisan Huang Xingxiu. These sessions will provide insight into the detailed process of creating illuminated art pieces, adding a cultural and educational layer to the entertainment-focused event.
Special programming will include themed nights and a dedicated “4th of July with Dinosaurs” celebration, blending holiday festivities with the prehistoric theme of the safari experience. Organizers aim to make the event a major summer attraction for families, especially during the Independence Day holiday period when attendance is expected to be high.
The Dino Safari will take place outdoors at Freehold Raceway Mall, located at 3710 U.S. 9 in Freehold, New Jersey. The venue offers free parking and ADA-compliant access to ensure accessibility for all visitors. The festival will run from July 1 through August 16, 2026, with evening operating hours scheduled across multiple days of the week and closures on Wednesdays, except for opening day.
