Arsenal Extend Unbeaten Run with Dominant 4-0 Win Over Juventus in Champions League

Arsenal’s remarkable form continued as they secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Juventus in the Women’s Champions League, extending their unbeaten run to five games under interim head coach Renee Slegers. With goals from Frida Maanum, Stina Blackstenius, Mariona Caldentey, and Caitlin Foord, the Gunners demonstrated resilience and skill in a thrilling performance that keeps them firmly in contention for a knockout stage spot.

Despite a strong start from Juventus, who tested Arsenal’s defense and threatened on the counter, Arsenal’s persistent attack eventually broke through. Maanum opened the scoring before halftime, slotting in from close range after an impressive team build-up.

After the break, substitute Blackstenius doubled Arsenal’s lead with a brilliant solo effort, racing into the box to fire past Juventus goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. Caldentey quickly added a third, reacting swiftly in the box to slot home after a scramble, and Foord sealed the win by tapping in a precise Kyra Cooney-Cross delivery.

With this victory, Arsenal remain second in Group C, three points ahead of Juventus and three points behind leaders Bayern Munich, making the upcoming rematch against Juventus on November 21 a crucial fixture in their quest for the knockout rounds.

Reflecting on the win, Slegers said, “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but the team’s intensity made the difference. Our substitutes provided that extra spark we needed to secure the result.” Winger Caldentey echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s depth: “It’s all about teamwork. Every player who came on contributed, and that unity is what drives us.”

As Slegers’ interim leadership continues to yield impressive results, the Gunners are showing signs of a team ready to make their mark on Europe.
