The third season of Euphoria has concluded with a highly debated finale, wrapping up a seven-week run that has sharply divided audiences and critics across social media platforms.

The new season pushes its central characters into a far more chaotic and surreal version of adulthood. Rue is shown struggling with increasingly extreme drug-related consequences, Cassie turns to explicit online content creation to fund her personal choices, Nate becomes involved in violent revenge-driven storylines, and Jules abandons her artistic ambitions while searching for financial stability through relationships.

Once celebrated for its emotionally grounded portrayal of Gen Z adolescence, the series has now taken a noticeably darker and more exaggerated narrative direction. This shift has sparked disagreement among viewers, with some praising the bold creative evolution while others argue that it has moved away from the realism that defined its early success.

The show first premiered in 2019 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon for its raw and stylized depiction of teenage life, addiction, identity, and relationships. It also played a major role in elevating its lead cast, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi, all of whom have since become globally recognized film and television stars.

Season three picks up several years after the characters leave high school, portraying a fractured adulthood shaped by instability, emotional conflict, and unresolved trauma. The narrative expansion into adult life has introduced new creative challenges, as the series attempts to maintain its original emotional intensity while exploring more mature themes.

Production delays caused by industry strikes, rewrites, and scheduling conflicts created a long gap between earlier seasons and the show’s return, which has also influenced audience expectations and reactions.

While some viewers have praised the season for its ambition and willingness to push boundaries, others have criticized it for leaning too heavily into shock value and exaggerated storytelling.

As discussions continue online, the series remains one of the most influential and widely debated cultural television dramas of its generation, reflecting the evolving tastes of its global audience.

Marilyn Monroe was never just one person. Over the course of her short life, she became a series of shifting identities some carefully constructed, others imposed by fame, media, and public imagination. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson, she transformed herself in the 1940s by adopting the name Marilyn Monroe, a choice she later described as wearing “a veil”—a crafted identity that could shield and elevate her at the same time.

From the beginning of her Hollywood career, Marilyn quickly evolved into the archetype of glamour. Studio publicity machines shaped her into the ultimate sex symbol of the era: platinum blonde hair, breathy voice, and a carefully curated image of effortless allure. This “Hollywood Marilyn” became one of the most recognizable figures in global entertainment, defining beauty standards and celebrity culture for generations.

But beneath the surface of fame, multiple versions of Marilyn existed simultaneously. There was the playful, almost childlike Marilyn often seen in public appearances and interviews, who reportedly called her husband “Daddy,” reflecting both affection and emotional vulnerability. There was also the politically symbolic Marilyn, whose connection to President John F. Kennedy most famously marked by her performance of “Happy Birthday” at Madison Square Garden added layers of intrigue and speculation that continue to fuel public fascination.

Away from cameras, another side emerged: the intellectual Marilyn. She was known to read literature deeply, including works by Dostoevsky, and sought respect as a serious actress rather than just a screen icon. Her marriage to playwright Arthur Miller further reinforced this attempt to be taken seriously within artistic and literary circles, as she tried to move beyond the limits of her public image.

Yet fame proved relentless. As Hollywood’s brightest star, Monroe also became one of its most scrutinized figures. The gap between her private struggles and public persona widened over time, with increasing pressure from studios, media attention, and personal instability.

Her life came to a tragic end in 1962, when she died from an overdose at the age of just 36. Her death cemented yet another version of her identity: Marilyn the legend, frozen forever in youth, beauty, and unanswered questions.

Today, Marilyn Monroe remains more than an actress or a cultural icon. She is a symbol of how celebrity can fragment identity into multiple narratives each one reflecting what the world wants to see, rather than the full truth of the person behind the image.

The Mayan Civilization was one of the most advanced ancient civilizations of the Americas. It developed in present-day southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador. The Maya civilization flourished for thousands of years, reaching its peak between 250 CE and 900 CE, a period often called the Classic Era.

One of the most impressive achievements of the Maya was their advanced knowledge of mathematics and astronomy. They developed a sophisticated calendar system that was highly accurate and based on careful observation of the stars, planets, and solar cycles. The Maya also used the concept of zero, which was a major mathematical innovation in the ancient world.

The Maya built large and impressive cities such as Tikal, Chichen Itza, and Palenque. These cities included massive stone pyramids, temples, palaces, and ceremonial plazas. Their architecture reflected both religious beliefs and strong engineering skills, as many of these structures still stand today.

Religion played a central role in Mayan life. They believed in many gods associated with nature, such as the sun, rain, maize, and the underworld. Rituals and ceremonies were an important part of their society, often performed by rulers and priests to maintain balance between humans and the gods.

The Maya also developed one of the most complex writing systems in the ancient Americas. Their hieroglyphic script was used to record history, religious texts, and royal events. Although many texts were destroyed during later periods, surviving inscriptions provide valuable insights into their civilization.

Agriculture was the foundation of the Mayan economy. They cultivated crops like maize (corn), beans, squash, and cacao. They used advanced farming techniques such as slash-and-burn agriculture and terrace farming to support large populations.

The decline of the Mayan Civilization is still debated among historians. Possible reasons include environmental degradation, drought, warfare, and political instability. However, the Maya people did not disappear; millions of their descendants still live in the region today, preserving many aspects of their culture and traditions.

The Mayan Civilization remains one of the most fascinating ancient cultures, known for its achievements in science, architecture, and art, as well as its enduring mystery.

As Eid approaches, communities across the Arabian world are preparing for one of the most important and joyous festivals in Islam. Marking the end of Ramadan, Eid is a time of gratitude, family gatherings, generosity, and deep cultural expression that reflects the rich heritage of Arabian culture.

In countries across the Gulf and wider Arab region, the days leading up to Eid are filled with anticipation. Homes are thoroughly cleaned and decorated with lights, while families prepare traditional sweets and festive meals. Streets and markets come alive with shoppers buying new clothes, gifts, perfumes, and ingredients for Eid feasts.

A central part of Arabian Eid traditions is charity. Families give Zakat al-Fitr before Eid prayers, ensuring that those in need can also take part in the celebrations. This spirit of generosity is deeply rooted in Islamic teachings and remains a defining feature of Eid festivities across the region.

On Eid morning, mosques and open prayer grounds fill with worshippers dressed in their finest clothing. The special Eid prayer is followed by heartfelt greetings of “Eid Mubarak,” symbolizing peace, unity, and goodwill among communities. Families then gather to visit relatives, neighbors, and friends, strengthening social bonds that are highly valued in Arabian culture.

Food plays a central role in the celebrations. Traditional dishes vary across countries but often include rich rice-based meals, grilled meats, dates, and an assortment of desserts such as baklava, maamoul, and other regional sweets. Hospitality is considered an important cultural value, with hosts often welcoming guests with generous spreads of food and coffee.

Children especially look forward to Eid, as they receive gifts, money known as Eidiya, and enjoy festive outings in parks, malls, and amusement centers. Public spaces are often decorated with lights and cultural displays, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the holiday period.

Beyond celebrations, Eid also reflects deeper cultural identity in the Arabian world. It is a time when families reconnect, communities come together, and traditions are passed down through generations. Despite modernization and changing lifestyles, the core values of faith, unity, and generosity remain unchanged.

As Eid draws near, the Arabian region once again prepares to embrace a festival that beautifully blends spiritual reflection with cultural celebration, making it one of the most cherished occasions of the year.

The 2026 edition of the Cannes Film Festival has once again transformed the French Riviera into the center of the global film industry, bringing together celebrated directors, rising stars, and cinema lovers from around the world. Known for its glamour, artistic prestige, and iconic red-carpet moments, this year’s festival showcased a strong mix of international storytelling, political themes, and groundbreaking filmmaking.

Held in the coastal city of Cannes, the festival attracted some of the biggest names in world cinema. Hollywood actors, European auteurs, and Asian filmmakers gathered for premieres that sparked both applause and debate. Several films received standing ovations lasting more than ten minutes, continuing Cannes’ tradition of dramatic audience reactions.

This year’s competition focused heavily on themes of war, migration, climate change, and artificial intelligence, reflecting growing global anxieties. Critics praised the diversity of films in the official selection, with productions from Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia receiving significant attention alongside major studio projects.

One of the biggest highlights of Cannes 2026 was the growing influence of streaming platforms and digital studios. Despite past tensions between traditional cinema and online platforms, streaming-backed films played a major role at the festival, signaling how rapidly the entertainment industry continues to evolve.

Fashion also remained central to the Cannes experience. Celebrities appeared in elaborate designer outfits on the famous red carpet outside the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, generating global social media buzz. Photographs and interviews from the festival dominated entertainment headlines throughout the week.

Industry experts described Cannes 2026 as a strong comeback year for international cinema after a period marked by production delays and economic uncertainty in the film business. Buyers and distributors reportedly secured several major deals during the event, while independent filmmakers used the festival to gain worldwide recognition.

As the festival moves toward its closing ceremony, anticipation is building over which film will win the prestigious Palme d’Or, the highest honor awarded at Cannes. Film critics say the competition remains one of the most unpredictable in recent years due to the unusually strong lineup.

Beyond awards and celebrity appearances, Cannes 2026 once again proved why it remains one of the most influential cultural events in the world   a place where art, politics, business, and global storytelling meet on cinema’s grandest stage.

The Mesopotamian Civilization is considered one of the earliest and most influential civilizations in human history. It developed around 3500 BCE in the region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, an area that is now part of modern-day Iraq and nearby regions. Because of its early advancements in city life, writing, and governance, Mesopotamia is often called the “Cradle of Civilization.”

One of the greatest contributions of Mesopotamia was the development of the first known writing system, called cuneiform. It was created by the Sumerians and was used for record-keeping, trade, laws, and communication. This innovation marked a major turning point in human history, as it allowed societies to document information for the first time.

Mesopotamian cities such as Ur, Uruk, and Babylon were among the earliest urban centers in the world. These cities were well organized with temples, marketplaces, and administrative buildings. Society was structured, with kings and priests holding significant power, supported by farmers, traders, and craftsmen.

Agriculture was the backbone of the Mesopotamian economy. The fertile land between the two rivers allowed people to grow crops like barley, wheat, and dates. They also developed advanced irrigation systems to control water supply, which helped them survive in an otherwise dry region.

The civilization is also known for its legal and cultural achievements. One of the most famous contributions is the Code of Hammurabi, one of the earliest written legal codes, which established rules and punishments to maintain order in society.

Mesopotamia also made progress in mathematics, astronomy, and architecture, influencing many later civilizations including the Greeks and Romans.

Over time, Mesopotamia declined due to invasions, environmental changes, and internal conflicts, but its legacy continues to shape the foundation of modern civilization.

In the snowy northern city of Oulu, an extraordinary winter event is turning heads across the world by combining entrepreneurial ambition with Finland’s unique Arctic culture. Each year, local entrepreneurs gather on the frozen Baltic Sea to take part in a remarkable startup pitching contest where participants present business ideas while standing inside ice holes cut into the sea.

The competition has become a symbol of Finland’s adventurous spirit and cultural connection to its harsh winter environment. Surrounded by snow and freezing temperatures, contestants step into icy water and deliver quick business pitches to judges and spectators watching from the frozen shoreline. The unusual setting tests not only innovation and confidence but also endurance and mental strength.

Organizers say the event celebrates both startup culture and traditional Nordic resilience. In Finland, winter is considered a way of life rather than an obstacle, and the contest reflects that attitude perfectly. By transforming the frozen sea into a stage for entrepreneurship, the event showcases how culture and creativity can come together in unexpected ways.

The icy challenge has gained international popularity through social media, where videos of shivering entrepreneurs pitching ideas in freezing water often go viral. Many viewers describe the event as one of the world’s most unique business competitions. Despite the extreme conditions, participants remain focused as they explain technology ideas, sustainability projects, and innovative services within a limited time.

For startups in Oulu, the event also offers valuable exposure. Investors, business leaders, and tourists attend the annual gathering, helping local entrepreneurs connect with wider audiences. Some participants have reportedly attracted investor interest after appearing in the competition.

More than just a business event, the frozen pitch contest has become a celebration of Finnish winter culture, courage, and creativity. As icy winds sweep across the Baltic coast, the competition proves that even in freezing temperatures, bold ideas can thrive.

Shakira has won a major legal victory after a Spanish court ordered the country’s tax authorities to refund her more than €55 million (around £50 million / nearly $70 million), bringing an end to a long-running dispute over her 2011 tax residency.

The ruling by Spain’s High Court found that authorities failed to prove that Shakira was a tax resident in Spain during 2011, a key requirement under Spanish law that states an individual must spend more than 183 days in the country to be liable for income tax. Judges concluded that she spent only around 163 days in Spain that year, meaning the tax assessments and penalties imposed on her were unlawful.

As a result, the court annulled previous tax demands, including multi-million-euro fines and back payments, and ordered the Spanish Treasury to return the full amount collected, plus interest. The total repayment is estimated to exceed €60 million once legal interest is included.

Shakira had long argued that she was not a Spanish tax resident in 2011, as she spent much of the year on international tour and did not have a permanent economic base in the country at the time. Her legal team welcomed the ruling, calling it a vindication after what they described as years of unjustified legal pressure and reputational damage.

Spanish tax authorities, however, are expected to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court, meaning the financial payout may still be delayed. Officials maintain that their original assessment was based on evidence linking the singer’s personal and professional life to Spain during that period.

The case is separate from Shakira’s earlier tax settlement covering 2012 to 2014, in which she admitted wrongdoing and paid a multimillion-euro fine to avoid a criminal trial. That agreement remains unaffected by the latest ruling.

Legal experts say the decision highlights the complexity of international tax residency rules, particularly for high-profile individuals with global careers. The case has also reignited debate in Spain over how aggressively tax authorities pursue celebrity figures.

Despite the long legal battle, Shakira continues her global music career and has expressed relief that at least one chapter of her tax disputes has now been resolved in her favor.

Bulgaria has been crowned the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with a spectacular performance by Dara, whose electrifying song “Bangaranga” captivated audiences and juries across Europe in a dramatic grand final.

The victory marks a historic moment for Bulgaria, as Dara delivered one of the most energetic and visually striking performances of the night, combining modern pop production with Balkan-inspired rhythms and a high-impact stage show that stood out in a fiercely competitive lineup.

Held in front of a massive global television audience, this year’s Eurovision final featured entries from dozens of countries, each bringing diverse musical styles ranging from ballads and electronic dance music to folk-inspired performances. However, it was Bulgaria’s entry that ultimately gained the highest combined score from professional juries and public voting.

Dara’s “Bangaranga” quickly emerged as a fan favorite during rehearsals, with its catchy hook, dynamic choreography, and bold staging. The performance featured vibrant lighting effects, synchronized dancers, and a powerful vocal delivery that helped secure strong support from both Eastern and Western European voters.

Following the announcement of Bulgaria’s victory, celebrations erupted among the Bulgarian delegation and fans watching across the country. The win is being hailed as a breakthrough moment for Bulgaria’s music industry on the international stage, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most-watched entertainment competitions.

Music critics have praised the entry for its modern production and cross-cultural appeal, noting that “Bangaranga” successfully blended commercial pop sensibilities with regional musical influences. Industry experts believe the win could open doors for Bulgarian artists in the global music market, with increased streaming and international collaboration opportunities expected in the coming months.

Dara, visibly emotional after the results were announced, thanked fans across Europe for their support and dedicated the victory to her team and supporters who helped bring the performance to life. She described the win as a dream come true and a proud moment for her country.

Eurovision organizers have also highlighted this year’s contest as one of the most competitive in recent history, with several countries remaining in contention until the final votes were revealed. With this victory, Bulgaria now joins the list of countries that have left a strong mark on Eurovision history, and attention will quickly turn to how the nation will host or participate in future editions of the contest following this landmark achievement.
