Bahrain to Become a Hub for Sustainable Air Mobility with Eve Air Mobility Partnership
Bahrain is taking a bold step toward a greener aviation future through a strategic partnership with Eve Air Mobility, a global leader in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This collaboration aims to establish Bahrain as the Middle East’s hub for sustainable and smart air mobility, supporting the kingdom’s long-term vision for innovation and environmental sustainability.
Under this agreement, Eve Air Mobility, a subsidiary of Embraer, will work with Bahraini authorities to design an ecosystem for eVTOL operations — including aircraft infrastructure, route planning, and regulatory frameworks. The initiative aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which prioritizes diversification and sustainability across key industries.
The partnership will pave the way for zero-emission urban air transport, capable of easing congestion and connecting cities more efficiently. The eVTOL aircraft, powered entirely by electricity, can transport passengers safely and quietly over short distances — ideal for urban commutes and tourism routes.
Eve Air Mobility’s CEO, Andre Stein, praised Bahrain’s progressive approach:
“Bahrain’s commitment to innovation and sustainability makes it an ideal partner for advancing urban air mobility in the region. Together, we can redefine how people move.”
The initiative also strengthens Bahrain’s role as an aviation and technology hub in the Gulf, complementing regional efforts in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where similar projects are underway. Analysts predict that early adoption of eVTOL technology could attract foreign investment, job creation, and new business opportunities in aerospace and infrastructure sectors.
With this collaboration, Bahrain positions itself at the forefront of the Middle East’s aviation transformation, setting a precedent for sustainable transport and technological advancement in the years ahead.
